Top Robotics Researcher - Mashhad Research Center

Recognized as the Top Robotics Researcher at the Mashhad Research Center. This distinction was achieved through the end-to-end development of the Smart Mask, conceptualized as an active, hardware-integrated respiratory ecosystem designed during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic to bridge the gap between passive face protection and active thermal-respiratory regulation.

The project achieved immense national validation, culminating in a live showcase to senior governmental delegations, a direct presentation to Mohsen Haji-Mirzaei (the Iranian Minister of Education at the time), and live coverage by IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) national television.

Technical Features & Engineering Innovations

Unlike standard passive N95 masks that cause respiratory fatigue and moisture accumulation, the Smart Mask introduces an active mechatronic loop:

1. Automated Thermal Regulation Engine

The system integrates an intelligent closed-loop micro-climate control system. By continuously monitoring the internal micro-environment, it automatically cross-regulates airflow to eliminate heat and humidity buildup, completely mitigating face-mask discomfort during prolonged usage.

2. Active HVAC & Respiratory Relief Framework

Engineered specifically for individuals suffering from asthma and severe chronic respiratory conditions, the mask features a high-frequency forced ventilation sub-system. It active-pumps purified air aligned with natural inhalation cycles, removing airflow resistance and allowing compromised patients to wear protection without breathing obstruction.

3. Continuous-Loop Sustainable Filtration

The core module is built with a rechargeable micro-power unit and a modular mechanical rail for quick-change particulate filters. This architecture transforms the mask from a single-use bio-hazard waste product into a permanent, sustainable personal medical device.

4. Ergonomic Center-of-Mass Counterbalancing

To solve the structural fatigue of wearing active components on the face, the hardware configuration utilizes an optimal structural weight-distribution layout. By counterbalancing the components symmetrically along the facial anchor points, the perceived weight load on the user’s nose and face is reduced by 50%.

Presentation to the Ministry of Education

The provincial excellence of the project led to its selection as the flagship hardware project representing Khorasan Razavi Province at the National Students Innovation Festival.
