3rd Place Laureate & Scholarship - RIT Dubai AI Competition

Secured 3rd Place globally at the prestigious 14th Annual Engineering Competition (Artificial Intelligence Division) hosted by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Dubai.

While the project officially represented the Raffles World Academy cohort, I served as the Lead Architect and Sole Developer—owning 100% of the engineering lifecycle, from algorithmic design to full-stack implementation. The system introduced an innovative, AI-driven academic workflow and homework management ecosystem, securing a 10,000 AED academic scholarship prize from RIT President Dr. Yousef Al-Assaf.

Individual Technical Ownership & Execution

While the project was presented under an institutional team banner, I served as the Lead Architect and Sole Developer—individually building 100% of the engineering, backend, and machine learning components from scratch.

Instead of relying on third-party APIs, wrapper scripts, or mockups, I engineered a fully functioning production prototype split into two core layers:

  • Deep Learning Pipeline: Architected and trained a custom Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) neural network using PyTorch to analyze multiple student variables (including subject weight vectors, difficulty configurations, and temporal constraints) to dynamically predict and classify task priority tiers (“Low” to “Very High”).
  • Full-Stack Deployment: Developed the entire web application infrastructure using the Flask framework, successfully binding the native PyTorch inference engine into a responsive, real-time user interface for student workflow tracking.

Competition Impact & Institutional Validation

Competing against high-caliber student tracks from across the region, the project stood out to the judging panel due to its functional autonomy and strict engineering execution. Rather than showcasing a conceptual slide deck, presenting a live, self-hosted web server running a custom-trained machine learning model demonstrated a rare depth of full-stack engineering proficiency.

The evaluation committee, led by academic heads at RIT Dubai, highly commended the system’s structural integrity, practical viability, and its potential to integrate natively with modern learning management systems to optimize student academic performance.
